The Problem

Every Deployment Starts Blind

Your cache is the most powerful performance layer in your stack. And every time you deploy a new instance, it knows absolutely nothing.

🧊
Every New Deployment Starts Cold
No access patterns. No prediction data. Default TTLs. A 0% hit rate for hours while the cache slowly learns what your application actually needs. Every request during ramp-up hits your origin, adding latency and load at the worst possible time — right when you are trying to make a first impression.
0% hit rate for hours after deployment
Optimization Takes Weeks
ML models need 2–4 weeks of traffic to learn your access patterns, identify hot keys, calibrate TTLs, and build effective prefetch sequences. During that entire ramp-up period, you are running on generic defaults — the equivalent of a sports car in first gear. Your cache is deployed but not yet working.
2–4 weeks before ML models converge
🔄
Every Customer Rediscovers the Same Patterns
E-commerce deployments all have similar access patterns. SaaS platforms all exhibit similar tenant-level caching behavior. Financial services all have similar compliance-driven access rhythms. But every new customer learns these patterns from scratch, as if no other customer in the same industry had ever existed.
Identical patterns rediscovered independently
How It Works

Cross-Deployment Learning. Zero Raw Data Shared.

Cachee instances periodically export anonymized access pattern summaries — never raw keys or values — using differential privacy. A central coordination service aggregates patterns across similar deployment profiles. New deployments receive pre-trained models from day one.

Network Effect

The more deployments contribute patterns, the better every new deployment performs from its first request.

Anonymized Pattern Export

Each Cachee instance periodically generates an access pattern summary: frequency distributions, temporal access rhythms, hot key clusters, TTL effectiveness scores, and prefetch sequence candidates. These summaries contain no raw cache keys or values — only statistical patterns about how data is accessed.

Before export, each summary is processed with epsilon-bounded differential privacy noise injection. The result is a pattern vector that cannot be reverse-engineered to reveal any individual key, value, or customer-specific behavior.

Profile-Matched Model Delivery

The coordination service aggregates patterns across deployments with similar profiles: industry vertical, workload type, and scale tier. An e-commerce deployment receives a model trained on hundreds of e-commerce access patterns. A SaaS platform receives a model trained on multi-tenant SaaS behavior. A financial services deployment receives a compliance-aware model.

New deployments receive these pre-trained models before processing their first request. Cold-start hit rates jump from 0% to 70–85% immediately. The models continue to refine as the deployment generates its own local data, converging to full optimization in days instead of weeks.

The Moat

This Is a Network Effect

Federated Cache Intelligence is not a feature. It is a structural competitive advantage that compounds with every new customer.

📈
Customer 1 vs. Customer 1,000
Customer 1 gets basic caching with cold-start ramp-up. Customer 1,000 gets caching that already knows their industry's access patterns, optimal TTLs, hot key distributions, and prefetch sequences. The product literally gets better with every customer who joins the network. This is the definition of a network effect moat.
The product improves with every deployment
🔒
Unreplicable Without the Installed Base
A competitor can replicate any individual caching feature: predictive prefetch, CDC invalidation, coherence protocols. What they cannot replicate is the aggregated access pattern intelligence from thousands of production deployments across dozens of industries. The installed base IS the competitive advantage. It cannot be built in a quarter.
No shortcut to an installed base
💰
SaaS Premium Justified
The perennial enterprise objection to SaaS caching is "why not self-host?" Federated Cache Intelligence is the answer: a self-hosted cache is a single node with no network intelligence. A Cachee deployment is a node in a global learning network that makes it smarter than any isolated instance could ever be. The SaaS premium buys you the network.
Self-hosted = isolated. SaaS = networked intelligence.
Compounding Returns
Every new customer in a vertical makes the model for that vertical more accurate. Every new vertical makes the cross-industry baseline more robust. Every improvement to the coordination algorithm benefits every deployment simultaneously. The network does not just grow linearly — the value compounds as pattern diversity increases.
Value compounds with network diversity
A cache that learns from one deployment is a product.
A cache that learns from every deployment is a moat.
Privacy

Privacy Architecture: Trust by Design

Federated Cache Intelligence is built on the principle that no raw data should ever leave an instance. Every privacy guarantee is enforced at the protocol level, not by policy.

🎯
Differential Privacy
Epsilon-bounded noise injection ensures that no individual deployment's access patterns can be identified or reverse-engineered from the aggregated model. Mathematical privacy guarantees, not policy promises.
👥
k-Anonymity
Patterns are only included in the federated model if N or more deployments independently exhibit them. A unique access pattern from a single customer is never shared, regardless of noise injection.
🚫
No Raw Keys or Values
Raw cache keys and values never leave your instance. Only statistical access pattern summaries — frequency distributions, temporal rhythms, cluster centroids — are exported. There is no mechanism to extract original data from the summaries.
Full Opt-Out Control
Any customer can disable pattern sharing entirely while still receiving pre-trained models from the network. Enterprise customers can also disable receiving federated models if they prefer fully isolated operation.

Federated Cache Intelligence is SOC 2 compliant. The privacy architecture has been reviewed against SOC 2 Type II controls for data confidentiality and processing integrity. All pattern aggregation occurs within Cachee's SOC 2-audited infrastructure.

Enterprise

Addressing Enterprise Objections

We built Federated Cache Intelligence knowing that enterprise security teams would scrutinize every aspect. Here are the objections we designed for.

"Our access patterns are proprietary and competitively sensitive."
Differential privacy with epsilon-bounded noise injection ensures that no individual deployment's patterns can be identified or reverse-engineered from the aggregated model. k-anonymity further ensures that unique patterns are never shared. You can also opt out of pattern sharing entirely while still receiving pre-trained models from the network — consuming without contributing.
"We are self-hosted and cannot send data to an external service."
Self-hosted Cachee instances can opt in to Federated Cache Intelligence. The pattern export is an outbound HTTPS call with an anonymized statistical summary. No inbound connections are required. For fully air-gapped environments, you can deploy the coordination service within your own infrastructure and federate across your own deployments, gaining cross-instance learning without leaving your network boundary.
"How do we know patterns from competitors in our industry aren't being used against us?"
Differential privacy is a mathematical guarantee, not a policy. The noise injection makes it impossible to determine whether any specific pattern came from a specific deployment. The aggregated model reflects statistical trends across hundreds of deployments — not the behavior of any individual customer. There is no mechanism to target or identify patterns from a specific company.
"We need regulatory approval before sharing any telemetry."
Federated Cache Intelligence is entirely opt-in. It is disabled by default. You can enable it after completing your regulatory review, and you can disable it at any time. The anonymized summaries contain no PII, no raw data, and no customer-identifiable information — they are statistical distributions of access frequency patterns, nothing more.
Impact

Cold Start: Before and After

The difference between deploying with and without Federated Cache Intelligence is the difference between weeks of ramp-up and instant production readiness.

Metric Without Federated Intelligence With Federated Intelligence
Hit rate at deploy 0% 70–85%
Time to optimized TTLs 2–4 weeks Immediate
Prefetch accuracy at deploy 0% (no data) 60–75% (profile-matched)
Origin load during ramp-up 100% of requests hit origin 15–30% of requests hit origin
Time to full ML convergence 2–4 weeks 2–4 days
Cross-industry pattern reuse None — isolated instance Full network intelligence
A cache that starts cold is a liability.
A cache that starts warm from day one is infrastructure.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Federated Cache Intelligence?

Federated Cache Intelligence is Cachee's cross-deployment learning network. Cachee instances periodically export anonymized access pattern summaries using differential privacy. A central coordination service aggregates these patterns across similar deployment profiles. New deployments receive pre-trained pattern models matching their industry and workload type, jumping cold-start hit rates from 0% to 70–85% immediately.

How does differential privacy protect my data?

Cachee uses epsilon-bounded noise injection and k-anonymity to ensure that no individual deployment's access patterns can be reverse-engineered from the aggregated data. Raw cache keys and values never leave your instance. Only statistical access pattern summaries are shared, and only after noise injection. Patterns are only included in the federated model if N or more deployments independently exhibit them.

Can I opt out of Federated Cache Intelligence?

Yes. Federated Cache Intelligence is entirely opt-in. You can disable pattern sharing at any time while still receiving pre-trained models from the network. Self-hosted instances can also participate. Enterprise customers have full control over what data, if any, is contributed back to the network.

How does the network effect improve caching over time?

Every new deployment that contributes anonymized access patterns makes the federated model more accurate for every other deployment in the same industry or workload profile. Customer 1 gets basic caching. Customer 1,000 gets caching that already understands their industry's access patterns, optimal TTLs, and predictive prefetch sequences. The installed base is the competitive advantage, and it compounds with every new customer.

What cold-start hit rates can I expect?

Without federated intelligence, new deployments start with a 0% hit rate and typically require 2–4 weeks of traffic for ML models to learn effective patterns. With federated intelligence, new deployments receive pre-trained models matching their deployment profile and achieve 70–85% hit rates from the first request. The exact rate depends on how well your workload matches existing profiles in the network.
